The commander of U.S. Fleet Forces Command, Admiral Jonathan Greenert discussed the Navy's new focus on motorcycle safety during a recently released podcast available to Navy service personnel. According to new rules laid out by the Navy, military personnel must report ownership of motorcycles to their chain of command, regardless of whether or not they drive on base. Each command shall then appoint a motorcycle safety representative who will report the command’s rider demographics to the motorcycle census located on the Naval Safety Center’s Web site.

Greenert emphasized that the bottom line is about saving lives, which is the responsibility of leadership at all levels.
